Client Success Manager

About the role

The Client Success Manager is the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of small business clients. You keep projects moving, communicate proactively, coordinate work across departments, and make sure every client feels genuinely cared for. This role blends organization, communication, and problem-solving with a real desire to see business owners succeed. We use QuickBooks Online and Gusto as our preferred software stack.

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
• Coordinate bookkeeping, payroll, tax, and planning projects
• Monitor deadlines and workflow across the team
• Ensure deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard
• Communicate proactively with clients — no surprises, no silence
• Schedule quarterly tax planning meetings
• Resolve client concerns with empathy and follow-through
• Identify opportunities to improve the client experience
• Support internal team communication and keep work moving smoothly

What we're looking for

• 3+ years in client-facing finance, accounting, or B2B account management
• Strong financial literacy — you can read a P&L and explain it
• Excellent written and verbal communication; calm and steady under pressure
• Highly organized — you run a cadence, not chaos
• US-based, authorized to work in the US

Nice to have

• Background in an accounting firm, fractional CFO practice, or fintech
• Experience with small business owners
• QuickBooks Online, Gusto, and practice-management tools (Taxdome or similar)
